The Super Falcons have scored ten goals in two games in the tournament and will be seeking for their third win against Jacqueline Shipanga's side
Coach Edwin Okon's ladies will look to finish Group A with a convincing win over Namibia in Windhoek and build some momentum after mouth-watering victories against Cote d'Iviore and Zambia in their first two matches.
The six-time African champions, who have already qualified for the semifinals of this year’s edition after a 6-0 drubbing of the She-polopolo of Zambia on Tuesday take on Namibia on Friday in their last Group A match at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
The Nigerian ladies have been terrific for their ruthlessness in front of goals with Desire Oparanozie scoring four of their ten goals in the tournament.
However, there is a great feeling within the camp that Super Falcons will continue to step up the quality of their football as they approach the semi-final phase.
"Against Namibia, I want victory. We are not taking our feet off the pedal. This is a championship and no team is here to soft-pedal for anyone. We are gunning for the maximum nine points from our group stages matches," Okon said in a pre-match conference.
"The 21 players here are good and equal to the task at hand. Anyone who is called upon to represent us will not fail but will deliver” said Okon.
Okon will likely repeat the starting XI that defeated Zambia on Tuesday, as he wants his team to be prepared for the decisive semi-finals of the tournament.
The former Falconets coach never doubted his ladies had potential to rout the hosts of the competition, while rallying the troops for another decisive encounter.
The Rivers Angels tactician appears ready to stick with his starting options as he prepares his team for greater challenges in the decisive semi and final stages of the tournament.
He stressed ahead of his side’s last Group A match, that he wants nothing but victory against the debutants as they will not look down on their hosts.
"People are talking about approaching the match against Namibia lackadaisically because we have already qualified but I have seen their team and they are not a bad side to be handled lightly," he noted.
"There are no longer minnows in football so we will enter the game with the same mindset we had against Ivory Coast and Zambia," he concluded.
Meanwhile, Super Falcons will for the third time in a row wear their traditional green jersey on green hose, while their opponents, Namibia will adorn red jersey on green hose.
Center Referee for the match is Lilia Abdeljaqued (Tunisia); Assistant Referee1, Ayawa Mana Dzodope (Togo); Assistant Referee2, Mary Njoroge (Kenya) and Reserve Referee, Incaf el-Harkaqui (Morocco).
The game will be played by 4pm Nigerian time.
